The house
Grandma Germana's over 250-year-old house in Schoppernau is not only steeped in history as a former police station and refuge for Russian soldiers during the war, but also a symbol of her passionate love for cooking and hospitality. Germana recorded her life story in a book that tells not only of her life, but also of the love of her life. Her devotion is reflected in every detail of the house, which today welcomes guests from all over the world in a cozy atmosphere. Grandma Germana's house is a place where people gather as they used to. Under the care of Ähle (Grandma), as she is known here in the Bregenzerwald, the whole family always gathered around the table to eat together, laugh, and share joyful times.
Grandma Germana
Grandma Germana, a truly kind soul and the namesake of our historic house, dedicated her life to hospitality and a love of cooking. She was not only a gifted cook but also a storyteller who brought joy to generations of guests and her family with her warmhearted nature and delicious dishes. Her son, Hanspeter, continued her tradition of hospitality and has already passed the legacy on to Philip, Germana's grandson. Together, they create an atmosphere where every guest feels at home and can experience the history of the house.

Hanspeter & Philip
Hanspeter Nigsch and his son Philip jointly continue the long-standing Nigsch family tradition. Hanspeter is known for his deep connection to nature and his commitment to sustainable agriculture. Under his leadership, the farm has evolved into a haven that harmoniously blends tradition and modernity. Philip, now the third generation, has taken over his father's legacy and, together with his wife Fiona, carries on the family tradition. They run Äle (Grandma) Germana's House with great passion and hospitality, preserving agricultural traditions while also exploring new avenues to offer their guests unforgettable experiences.
